Should I hire this person?

I am opening a new hotel soon and I require the GM to live on property. I have the most qualified person but he is a registered offender. He had one mistake when he was 19 years old of dating a 16 year old. Now I dont see anything wrong with that personally but the law is the law. People can go online and see where offenders live. Would this hurt my business and cause a backlash of business? Should I hire him? What do you think I should do? He is someone I have known for a few years now and he is now 31 years old. He is the most qualified and I really want to hire him but the registered part scares me because people can see the same address he lives is my hotel. What should I do? Any advice would be appreciated.
