My tooth fell into my gum?

The other day I noticed my tooth hurting I thought maybe I just bit too hard and than later on I noticed my back or third molar has sunk into my gums on my left side of my mouth. When I run my finger back around my gums I notice it juts out a little. It hasn't poked a hole to the point where I'm bleeding, but I'm scared and I'm hoping this doesn't mean a root c. We never really had money in our house of braces so I'm now eighteen and I'm working a full time job so I can save up to buy braces. Health insurance only covers so much. It's not like a toothache, but I want to find out about it before something worse occurs.
